picture of booksA profound belief in the value of education lies at the heart of the Society. Our principal aim is to advance the science of cosmetics and the provision of information and lifelong learning is an integral part of this.

The Society provides a series of training and career development opportunities. Basic training may be obtained through the Distance Learning Course (DLC) which takes students through a series of 31 modules, projects and exams and leads to an SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science. There is also our redesigned interactive course for those developing their careers called Principles and Practice of Cosmetic Science (PPCS). In addition there are educational events held around the country and designed for recent recruits to the industry. The Society's annual exhibition, SCS Formulate, provides an unmissable opportunity for formulators to learn how to use new ingredients and technologies.

All this is supported by a series of evening lectures held in London that provide the latest information and reviews of topics integral to the work of everyone involved in cosmetic science.
