We currently have a brilliant opportunity for a Product Technologist within our Own Brand team. You will be working closely with Brand Managers and Buyers to develop the brand plan, by providing technical expertise throughout the new product development process and pre and post product compliance.
Responsibilities will include:
• Develop Own Brand product ranges with Brand Managers and Buyers; setting out the technical requirements.
• Deliver the technical elements of the New Product Development process and the on-going technical product compliance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to enhance and increase product performance, quality systems and NPD; ensuring they adhere to quality and legal requirements.
• Deliver the technical aspects of all critical paths to budget/cost and within set timescales.
• Regularly review and benchmark Own Brand products to ensure comparable quality is maintained.
• Continually keep up to date with standards, legal requirements and technical innovation.
• Managing multiple supplier relationships to ensure Superdrug requirements are being met through product specifications and factory certification schemes.
We are seeking a candidate who has experience of working within cosmetics, toiletries or healthcare formulations, is educated to degree level or equivalent - ideally within cosmetic science, biology or chemistry and has experience as a Product Technologist or has worked in a laboratory developing products.

An opportunity for a talented Senior Development Chemist has arisen to add strength and depth to our Creative New Product Development Team.
You will join our team of creative Chemists to lead and co-ordinate the development of innovative products for a set of key customer accounts.
The successful candidate will have at least a first degree in a scientific discipline preferably Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related subject with 3-5 years experience of formulation within cosmetics and toiletries or related industries.
You should have a creative approach to product development and the ability to confidently present to customers both internally and externally. You should also be computer literate, enthusiastic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and be part of our creative team.

You can see that your Science degree (or equivalent) and significant relevant technical expertise of ideally 3yrs plus, ideally in an FMCG environment is vital here. Your hands on experience of developing and delivering formulations from concept to market is where you'll stand out.

Claims Evaluation Technologist

Based in our purpose built evaluation suite on the Boots Site at Nottingham, you'll be managing your own claims testing, working closely with our Formulation Teams and consulting with Scientific Advisors and Statisticians to ensure the delivery of robust product claims to agreed time scales.
You will run performance studies assessing the in-use benefits of a wide portfolio of formulation types across our Skin Care, Sun Care and Cosmetics ranges, conducting testing on members of the public in our volunteer panel, gathering data, analysing results and reporting supportable claims.
Your science degree or technical background means you'll be naturally comfortable in a scientific arena. The need to be self-motivated, organised and able to work with high levels of accuracy is obviously essential. Senior Development Chemist
Competitive Salary
Reporting to the Development Manager you will be responsible for the development of new personal care products in line with customer and legislative requirements, including the technical transfer of these products to full scale manufacture.
Applicants should be educated to A level standard with a minimum of 3 years experience in an equivalent position or a HNC / Diploma in Cosmetic Science and a minimum of 2 years experience.
A natural creative flair together with experience of formulating modern, innovative personal care products is essential. Frequent customer and supplier contact will be required, as will be attending relevant seminars to stay up to date with recent technologies and developments in the Personal Care Industry. Attention to detail, a logical approach and excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills are required to succeed in this role.
Hours of work will be 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday although some flexibility will be required.
